This is part 1 of day 4.

TX v. Kaitlin Armstrong is a trial currently happening in Austin, Texas. It involves the cyclist love triangle murder of Anna Moriah “Mo” Wilson on May 11th, 2021. The state has alleged that Armstrong stalked Mo using a riding app that showed where Mo was staying while in Austin. After Mo went on a friend date with Armstrong’s boyfriend, the state alleges that Armstrong went up to the apartment where Mo was staying and shot her 3 times. Audio from nearby Ring video appears to have caught a woman scream followed by 2 gunshots then a pause and a final 3rd gunshot. After Mo was killed, Armstrong sold her black SUV and left the area. She would later have an arrest warrant out for her arrest but she fled the country using her sister’s passport and was located 43 days later at a hostel in Costa Rica where the state alleges she had recently paid to have cosmetic procedures to change her appearance and had also changed her hair color and was going by an alias. She is charged with the 1st degree murder of Wilson. 3 weeks prior to the start of this trial she attempted to escape custody in a scheme the state alleges was premeditated and well thought out. She managed to escape while on a medical appointment leave and got about a mile away from officers before she was caught. During the brief period of escape she had changed out of her jail clothes and stripped down to something she was wearing underneath. She is now also charged with the escape. I will be posting update streams after court every evening until this case is finished.
